    Hello,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

I understand you're experiencing a network connection issue after updating to Windows 11 version 24H2, specifically encountering Error Code: 0x800704f8. You've already attempted changes via Group Policy and Local Security Policy, but the issue persists.

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

    Reset Network Settings

This is often the most effective fix:

    1. Open Settings → Network & Internet → Advanced network settings.
    2. Click Network reset.
    3. Restart your PC.

    Reinstall or Update Network Drivers

    1. Press Win + X → Device Manager.
    2. Expand Network adapters.
    3. Right-click your adapter → Uninstall device.
    4. Restart your PC to reinstall automatically, or download the latest driver from the manufacturer’s website.

    Set Static IP and DNS

Since DHCP may be broken in 24H2

    1. Go to Control Panel → Network and Sharing Center → Change adapter settings.
    2. Right-click your network → Properties.
    3. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) → Properties.
    4. Set:
      • IP address: e.g., 192.168.1.100
      • Subnet mask255.255.255.0
      • Default gateway192.168.1.1
      • Preferred DNS8.8.8.8
      • Alternate DNS1.1.1.1

Group Policy & Local Security Policy Fix

If you’ve already tried this, double-check these settings.

    Use Windows Troubleshooter

    1. Go to Settings → System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters.
    2. Run Network Adapter and Internet Connections troubleshooters.

    Roll Back the Update

    • If none of the above work, consider uninstalling the 24H2 update via Settings → Windows Update → Update history → Uninstall updates

If you need help with any of these steps or the issue still persist, feel free to ask

    Best wishes,
