Trying to replace windows on an old acer switch 3. Tried using the boot using usb option. In BIOS I cannot change the boot Priority order. The only option is windows boot manager. Trying to change it to USB but pressing the arrows doesn't do anything to change it. Secure boot is enabled as is f12 boot menu.

Supervisor password is set

Windows for home | Windows 10 | Windows update

    Hello ,

I’m here to help you in resolving your issue

Thanks for the details! Since you're working with an Acer Switch 3 and the BIOS won't let you change the boot order (only shows Windows Boot Manager),I will let you know few steps to fix it.

    1: Enter BIOS

    a. Power off the device.

    b. Hold Volume Up + Power button until Acer logo appears.

    c. Release buttons -- You should be in the BIOS/UEFI menu.

2: Set Supervisor Password (if not already set)

You mentioned it’s already set. If not:

    a. Go to Security tab

    b. Set a Supervisor Password

    c. This unlocks the ability to change boot and secure boot settings.

    3: Disable Secure Boot

    a. Go to the Boot or Security tab

    b. Find Secure Boot > Disable it

    If it’s grayed out:

You must set a Supervisor Password first (as you’ve done)

Then try again ,it should now allow disabling Secure Boot.

    4: Enable USB Boot Option

    a. Go to Boot tab

    b. Make sure Boot Mode is set to UEFI

    c. Enable F12 Boot Menu

    d. Save and exit

5: Plug in Your Bootable USB

    a. Use the USB-A port, not USB-C if possible.

    b. Plug in a properly created USB boot drive (make a UEFI-compatible Windows installer)

    6: Access F12 Boot Menu

    a. Restart the device

    b. Immediately tap F12 until the Boot Menu appears

    c. You should now see your USB device as a boot option

If you still don’t see the USB:

    a. Try using a different USB port or USB stick

    b. Recreate the bootable media something like Rufus in GPT + UEFI mode (not MBR)
