Azure app (WordPress) not connecting to ClearDB host

Getting "Error establishing database connection" on my Azure site (WordPress) to the ClearDB host. I have validated the following:

  • Via the Azure portal, checked the web app Configuration Connection Settings and all are the same as ClearDB settings.
  • Checked wp-config.php via Debug Console of the web app; all settings are the same as ClearDB settings.
  • Tried regenerating my password on ClearDB side, updated all Connection Settings and wp-config.php file. Still cannot connect.

Site is https://purepowershellguy.com. This issue obviously applies to both main site and wp-admin access.

I have worked with AzureSupport via twitter and cannot resolve the issue.
