BitLocker Code, I need help!

Good afternoon,

I just bought a new laptop from Best Buy. It is a Lenovo. I can’t access my computer because it is asking for a bit locker code. I tried using my email from school, which is the only one that lets me in to a Microsoft account and went to the device category but my laptop does not show up. I tried using other emails and my phone number but they all say I don’t have an account with Microsoft and I don’t know what to do. I can’t access to my laptop and I don’t have a code, I would like some help, please. I asked Best Buy to help me and they told me that in order to reset my Microsoft computer it would cost $180 around there and that just seems too much since I bought the computer last week.

In this case, use a bootable Windows USB to perform a clean install. You will be needing another machine / PC to perform this one.

See Microsoft article below for the steps by steps process.

When I did this it says “There is a problem resetting your PC” in the Reset this PC page.

Hi Dana, hope you're doing well. I'm Ian, and I'm happy to help you today.

Kindly follow steps below for PC reset

    1. Start your device and wait for the Windows logo (or the manufacturer's logo) to appear
    2. As soon as the Windows logo appears, press and hold the power button until the device shuts down
    3. Turn your device on again and repeat step 2
    4. Turn your device on a third time. Windows should display the Automatic Repair screen
    5. Select Advanced options
    6. Select Troubleshoot.
    7. Select Reset this PC -> Remove Everything.
