BSOD Boot Loop

Anonymous
2025-03-23T14:08:13+00:00

I just installed a new Gigabyte Z690 motherboard and Intel i5-13600K CPU. Nothing else changed and this isnt the first time I've installed a new motherboard and cpu together.

But all of a sudden I'm getting BSOD on boot up which says "SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED"

Then reboots. I'm unable to do a recovery because it keeps telling me my password is incorrect when I know for a fact it isnt(because I'm literally logged into my Microsoft account here)

Ive got my PC booted up into safe mode but I'm unable to ascertain what's causing Windows to fail to load.

Prior to installing the new mobo and cpu, I un-installed AMD related software to avoid conflicts with Intel software.

I tried calling the tech support line but now the stupid automated system keeps hanging up on me.

I ended up figuring it out, turns out despite uninstalling AMD chipset software it retained some core functions from it and it was interfering with the Intel Z690 chipset software preventing it from booting into Windows properly.

Had to do a fresh windows install which resolved the issue.

    Hello,

From Safe Mode, please open File Explorer and navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump. If you see any .dmp files, please put them in a ZIP folder, upload it to Google Drive/OneDrive/Dropbox, and then share a link here. This way, I can analyze the minidumps and tell you what is causing the BSODs.

Hope to hear back from you.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

If you were able to access Safe Mode in the Recovery Environment and you were not blocked by a password, open File Explorer, then go to the C:\Windows\Minidump folder to see if there are any minidump files in there, if there are, please upload them to any cloud service and provide a share link here, I will analyse the for you.
