    Dear Netanel Gubbay

Thanks for using Microsoft products and posting in the Community.

To use the Task Planner in a Microsoft Windows 11 laptop, there are the following main steps:

    Open Task Scheduler

Via the search bar: Click on the “Start” menu, type “Task Scheduler” in the search box, and then click on “Task Scheduler” in the search results to open it3.

Via Run command: Press “Win+R” key combination to open the “Run” dialog box, type “taskschd.msc” and enter .

Via Computer Management: Right-click on the “Start” icon or the “Windows” logo, select “Computer Management”, and in the left panel of the opened window, locate the “Task Scheduler” in the left panel of the window that opens.

    Creating basic tasks

Set the task name and description: In the Task Scheduler window, select “Create Basic Task”. In the pop-up window, enter a name and description for the task for easy subsequent identification .

Select Trigger: Set the conditions for the task to start executing, such as “One Time” “Daily” “Weekly” “Monthly “ “When computer starts up” “When I log on” etc.

Select Action: Usually there is a choice of actions such as “Start Program”, “Send Email”, etc. If you select “Start Program”, you can select “Send Email”. If you select “Start Program”, you need to specify the path of the program; if you select “Send Email”, you need to set the information related to sending emails.

Setting Parameters: If you choose to start the program, you need to add parameters according to the actual situation. Make sure the path and parameters are correct so that the task cannot be executed.

Finish setting: After checking all the settings of the task are correct, click “Finish”, the task is created successfully.

    Make advanced settings

Setting Conditions: After the task is created, right-click on the task and select “Properties” to enter the “Conditions” tab. You can set the task to run only when the computer is connected to a power source, or when the computer is in an idle state, etc.

Set Multiple Triggers: Go to the “Triggers” tab and click “New”, you can set multiple triggers for a task to allow the task to execute under multiple conditions.

View Task History: The “History” tab allows you to view the running status of a task, which helps to diagnose why the task failed to execute properly.

Grouping and Managing Tasks: In the left panel of the Task Scheduler, folders can be created to organize and manage multiple tasks, making them easy to find and manage.

    Managing Tasks

View Task Execution Log: In Task Planner, right-click a task and select “View History” to view the execution log of the task.

Delete or disable a task: Right click on the task you want to delete or disable and select “Delete” or “Disable”. The task will not be executed after disabling, but remains in the task list.

    Best wishes
