Trying to access ECP on an Exchange 2016 server and I am getting the below error. ECP was working up until I installed CU 20.
I tried copying the sharedWebConfig.config file from C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\FrontEnd\HttpProxy and pasting it in C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\ClientAccess directory with no luck.
I also tried shutting down IIS, renaming the ecp folder in C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\Temporary ASP.NET Files\ecp to ecp.old, and starting IIS again with the ecp directory getting regenerated, and I am still getting the below error.

Are there any errors during the installation process?
Does the OWA work normally?
Please try to the following steps:
1.Check the IIS.
1)Open IIS Manager. Expand Sites > Exchange Back End.
2)Click ecp. Open Application Settings in /ecp Home.
3)Please check whether the value for “BinSearchFolders” is changed to an invalid value. If so, please change it to:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\bin;C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\bin\CmdletExtensionAgents;C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\ClientAccess\Owa\bin
4)Please run the IISRESET in CMD start as Administrator to restart the IIS.
2.Please navigate to “C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\FrontEnd\HttpProxy\ecp.” Then backup the web.config and web.config.bak file. Then delete the web.config file and rename the "web.config.bak" to "web.config". Then please run the IISRESET in CMD start as Administrator to restart the IIS.
3.Please navigate to “C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Bin”, then run the UpdateCas.ps1 in this file to reset the ECP.
In addition, are there have any related error logs in event viewer? If so, please share with us, but please pay attention to covering your personal information.

Successfully repairing OWA is a good start, please try to the following steps below to repair ECP:
1.Which version of Exchange did you upgrade from? Please make sure that install the right version of .NET Framewrok.
2.Please check if all Exchange related services are running.
3I noted that you already re-create the ECP virtual directory, please run the following command to check the settings of ECP virtual directory:
Get-ECPvirtualdirectory | fl
4.Please check the ECP in the "default web site" and "Exchange back end site" in IIS, and make sure that check the "Require SSL".
5,I check the web.config file in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\FrontEnd\HttpProxy\ecp. But I found that the content of the number of lines displayed in your error message is different from that in my environment. Please open the web.config file and check lines 60-64 to see if it is the same as the content of the error message. If they are different, do you have other Exchange servers running the same version? Please try to copy the file from a working Exchange server.
6.Did you found any releted error message in event viewer?

In the web.config file in C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\FrontEnd\HttpProxy\ecp I noticed that there was a wrong file path. I changed

to
<linkedConfiguration href="file:///C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\FrontEnd\HttpProxy\SharedWebConfig.config"/>
Now ECP is loading and asking me to login. However after I login I get an HTTP 500 error page on the URL https://localhost/owa/auth.owa

The ECP in Default Site and Exchange Back end site are both set to require SSL
There are no other Exchange 2016 servers, just an Exchange 2010 server and this Exchange 2016 server.
I don't see any events mentioning ECP or IIS.

I have migrated the mailbox for the account I was using to login to ECP to the Exchange 2016 server and now I am getting a HTTP 400 error instead of 500.
Previously I was logging into ECP with this account on Exchange 2016 while the mailbox was on 2010 without issues.
Did something change with the ECP directory where now it is more tied into OWA and using that session or looking for that mailbox for the user?

1.Due to the latest error, I want to confirm with you what is the specific content of the latest error? If possible, please share with us. Pay attention to covering your personal information.
2.Did you migrate the administrator mailbox? Please make sure that the account you are logging in to ECP has the correct permissions. Or you can also add a user mailbox to the Organization Management group as shown in the figure below, and then use that account to log in to ECP.
3.Regarding the relationship between ECP and OWA you mentioned. When you make changes to ECP virutal directory, you will be prompted to make the same changes to OWA virtual directory. So please make sure that your OWA and ECP authentication methods, etc. keep the same configuration.
4.Based on research on the ECP provided by you. Is the ECP virtual directory you recreated in Exchange 2016? Is "Exchange2016.domain.local" your AD domain?

I have to same problem in the FrontEnd ECP and could not solve it with "BinSearchFolders" or "UpdateCas.ps1"
Exchange Server 2016 CU20 (Build: 15.1.2242.4)
Not sure how i can upgrade to the current CU with this error in place.
I have partly resolved it by copy a web.config from another server, i was not able to find the difference by comparing them.
The Web-Interface is working now but the Powershell still has an Error:
New-PSSession : [[computername] ] Connecting to remote server [computername] failed with the
following error message : The WinRM client cannot process the request. It cannot determine the content type of the
HTTP response from the destination computer.
Also solved the powershell problem by replace the web.config in the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\FrontEnd\HttpProxy\PowerShell
Find all wrong web.config "Find in Files" for the String %ExchangeInstallDir% for the follwing folder:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\FrontEnd\HttpProxy
