Azure Files linking to Azure AD

I've created an azure storage account and 3 shares, I can access these from a PC using access keys but I want to use Azure AD groups.
When I head into the storage account configuration and enable the "Identity-based access for file shares - Azure Active Directory Domain Services (Azure AD DS"

I get the following error. "failed to update storage account '****files'. Error the resource *****-----********* does not exist?"

i'm not trying to link this to an on-prem. AD, all just on Azure.

Thanks
Dave

Hi Sumarigo, yes we have a tenant, we have PCs connected to this Azure AD, exchange, office 365 and some .net applications using azure authentication.
I have attached a screen shot of the error.

    Many thanks
    Dave
