BSOD: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL | What failed: tcpip.sys

Hi, I just got a very sudden and unexpected bluescreen. I've never had one like this before. All I was doing was reading some articles on Firefox, with Discord and Steam open in the background. Steam was installing an update for a game.

I've tried to find the MEMORY.DMP file, but according to the Event Viewer, that file was deleted because there's less than 25GB of free space on my C drive...I only have 4GB free (and that's after deleting as many nonessential programs and files as I could afford to).

Press Windows key + E (To open File Explorer)

Click "This PC" > then follow the file path:

C:\Windows\Minidump

Copy the Minidump files and save them to another location like Desktop or Documents.

While waiting, the error tcpip.sys is a Windows Driver framework that is associated with the drivers, which allows communication between hardware and connected device, the issue happens when there is new hardware that is not calibrated to what the software is used to, and it is pointing out on the Network interface card, in this case, kindly follow the steps below:

Method 1. Roll back Network driver:

-Press the Windows key + X

-Go to Device Manager

-Expand the Network Adapters

-Look for the Wireless driver that was installed

-Right-click and Update

-Look for "Browse my computer for driver

-Let me pick drivers available drivers

-Choose an old driver and use it.

If the issue persists, run the following command in Command Prompt (Admin). Follow the steps below to do so.

These sets of commands will reset the internet connection and re-calibrate the internet settings you have.

Press Windows Key + X.

Click on the Command prompt (Admin) or Windows Powershell (admin)

Type the following commands, and hit Enter after each command:

netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled

netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled

netsh int tcp set global rss=enabled

netsh winsock reset

netsh int ip reset

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renew

ipconfig /flushdns

If the same issue follows the methods below:

Do clean boot:

A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that you can determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program.

• In the search box on the taskbar, type msconfig and select System Configuration from the results.
• On the Services tab of System Configuration, select Hide all Microsoft services, and then select Disable all.
• On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select Open Task Manager.
• Under Startup in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then select Disable.
• Close Task Manager.
• On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select OK. When you restart the computer, it's in a clean boot environment.

I have not encountered the crash since the initial incident, but if I do, I'll try rolling back the driver and booting in safe mode.
