    Dear Maksims Matvejevs,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community

I'm sorry to hear you're running into issues while trying to install Windows. The error message "Windows could not prepare the computer to boot into the next phase of installation" usually indicates a problem related to the drive or partition you are trying to install Windows on.

Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot this issue:

Remove Peripheral Devices: Disconnect any unnecessary peripheral devices (external hard drives, printers, etc.) that may interfere with the installation process.

    Check BIOS/UEFI Settings

Ensure the BIOS/UEFI settings are correctly configured:

Restart your computer and enter the BIOS/UEFI setup (usually by pressing a key like F2, Delete, or Esc during boot).

Ensure the boot mode is set to UEFI if your disk is GPT, or to Legacy/CSM if your disk is MBR.

Disable Secure Boot temporarily if it's enabled.

Ensure the boot order is configured to boot from your installation media first.

    Check the Installation Media

Verify that your installation media (USB drive or DVD) is intact and correctly created. You can use the Windows Media Creation Tool to create a new bootable USB drive.

    Boot from Installation Media

Restart your computer and boot from the USB or DVD installation media.

On the first setup screen (where you select language and keyboard preferences), press Shift + F10 to open Command Prompt.

    Type diskpart and press Enter.

Type list disk and press Enter to see the disks connected to your computer.

Type select disk X (replace X with the disk number of your new hard drive) and press Enter.

Be very careful to select the correct disk, as this process will erase its contents.

Type clean and press Enter. This will erase all data on the selected disk.

Type create partition primary and press Enter.

Type format fs=ntfs quick and press Enter.

    Type assign and press Enter.

Type exit and press Enter to close Diskpart.

Type exit and press Enter to close Command Prompt.

    Restart the Installation

Restart your computer and boot from the installation media again.

    Follow the installation prompts.

When you reach the part of the installation where you select a drive to install Windows on, select the newly created partition.

If the problem persists despite following these steps, consider seeking professional hardware support. There could be a hardware issue with the new hard drive or another component of your system.

    Best Regards,

Martin | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
