Hi nicholas,
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
We understand the frustration of not being able to access the Internet. This can prevent you from completing Internet-based tasks or entertainment on your computer.
Many computers often have a network card module integrated into the motherboard. This means that you usually don't need to invest in an additional network card, but only need to purchase a suitable network cable.
If you wish to obtain and install the driver without an Ethernet cable, you will usually need another device with network access.
- Identify Your Network Adapter: Check your computer's manual or the manufacturer's website to find the make and model of your network adapter. If you can't access the internet on your PC, you can use another device to find this information.
- Download the Driver on Another Device: Use a device with internet access to download the network driver for your network adapter. Visit the manufacturer's website and search for the driver using the make and model you identified earlier.
- Transfer the Driver to Your Offline PC: Copy the downloaded driver to a USB flash drive or any other portable storage device. Plug the device into your offline PC and copy the driver file to an easily accessible location, such as the desktop.
- Install the Driver Manually: Open the driver file and follow the on-screen instructions to install it. Alternatively, you can go to Device Manager, right-click your network adapter, select "Update Driver," and choose the option to browse your computer for the driver software.
- Restart Your Computer: Once the driver is installed, restart your PC to ensure the new driver is fully integrated.
If your mobile device (such as a mobile phone) allows you to create a hotspot or USB shared network.
You can also try connecting your computer to your mobile device via a USB cable.
