I have this problem where the antivirus uses too much cpu

    Hi, This is Ramesh.

    Please open Task Manager and post a screenshot of the anti-malware service executable process along with the CPU usage and other columns.

    Note that around 150--200 MB or CPU usage during idle state is normal. The usage will be much higher when you run a quick or a full scan.

    Before for me it used 100% cpu

    100% CPU may occur if Defender runs a scan. I'd like to see the CPU usage when the system is idle.
