Hello, Buddhika Bandara
Welcome to the Microsoft community.
Thank you for your feedback. There are several ways to find BitLocker recovery key:
- Find it from your Microsoft account
If you have backed up your BitLocker Recovery Key to your Microsoft account, follow these steps:
Go to https://account.microsoft.com and log in to your Microsoft account.
In the “Devices” section, find your device.
Click on the appropriate device to view the BitLocker Recovery Key.
- Via Active Directory (corporate network)
If your computer is part of a corporate network and your IT department manages BitLocker keys, you can contact the IT department to request a Recovery Key. The Active Directory used by your company may store these keys.
- From the command prompt
You can also view the recovery key from the command prompt:
Press Win + X and select Command Prompt (Administrator) or **Windows PowerShell (Administrator)**.
Type the following command and press Enter:
manage-bde -protectors -get C:
where C: is the drive you want to view the BitLocker key for. This command will display the recovery key associated with that drive.
- Via File Explorer (Windows 10/11)
If BitLocker is enabled on your computer, you can try to find it in the Control Panel:
Open the Control Panel.
Select System and Security > BitLocker Drive Encryption.
Click Manage BitLocker for the corresponding drive and select Backup Recovery Key.
If you are unable to find it, try contacting your device vendor or IT support.
I look forward to your feedback.
Best Regards,
