SharePoint Migration Tool and Publishing Pages

I'm trying to migrate existing publishing pages from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint Online. I'm using the "publishing site" template in SharePoint Online, however no pages are being migrated.

There are no errors being reported in the migration summary or error logs. However, there are messages written to the Structure Report - for each Pages library, it logs "The list template 850 is not supported".

The page https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepointmigration/spmt-supported-site-features includes the publishing features.

I'm not expecting the pages to work exactly as they did in SharePoint 2013, but right now it isn't transferring any pages. I've manually created the master page in the destination site collection, but that hasn't helped.

Has anyone had success with migrating publishing pages with the SharePoint Migration Tool?

    Hi @Ivan Wilson ,

I could also reproduce this scenario on my end. Each time I migrated a publishing site to SharePoint Online, I found that Page library was skipped as "The list template 850 is not supported" with error code 0x03000004.

As per my research, it is a default phenomenon when using SPMT. The Page library in a publishing site is not a supported list template by SPMT. So, currently we cannot migrate publishing pages using SPMT. I'm afraid you have to ask a 3rd party migration tool which supports it for help. Someone has submitted the feedback here- Enable "Page" library in SPMT. Also, you can upvote for this user voice. It is a place for customers provide feedback about Microsoft SharePoint products. What's more, if a feedback is high voted there by other customers, it will be promising that Microsoft Product Team will take it into consideration when designing the next version in the future.

Thanks Allen, I downloaded a trial of ShareGate and I was able to migrate publishing pages. I've voted up the "Enable Page library" feedback.
