    Hello,ABU SAUD ALHARBI

Welcome to posting in the Microsoft Community.

I have learned that there is an issue with the refresh rate of the monitor, I used to be able to set a higher refresh rate normally, but now I can only see the 60 Hz option.

This situation is most likely related to the graphics card driver. The graphics card driver is responsible for communicating with the operating system and the display device. If there is a problem with the driver, such as installing an incompatible version, a corrupted driver, or an error during the update process, the system may not be able to correctly recognize the monitor's specifications and the supported refresh rate. As a result, the system may be limited to 60 Hz by default, even if the monitor itself supports a higher refresh rate. In addition, sometimes Windows updates may automatically install generic graphics card drivers that are more limited in functionality and may not be able to fully utilize the performance of the graphics card, thus preventing you from using the monitor's highest refresh rate setting.

    • Did you perform any changes such as system updates, **** removing or adding specific process applications, **** BIOS updates, etc. before this issue appeared?

If the problem occurs after updating your system, consider uninstalling the update, or go to your computer manufacturer's website to download the corresponding graphics card driver and try the latest version or several versions. Also, in Windows' Advanced Display Settings, make sure that your monitor's resolution and refresh rate are configured correctly. Sometimes the resolution setting may be too high and the refresh rate option may be limited, so you can try lowering the resolution and then adjusting the refresh rate. For example, set it to 1920x1080 and then try selecting a higher refresh rate.

If you need to uninstall the update, we recommend you to refer to the following steps:

    1. Using System Restore Points
    • Type Control Panel in the bottom search bar, then select “Recovery > Open System Restore > Next”, select the restore point before the system update, and then select Next > Finish.
    1. Restoring the environment through WinRE
    • Click the Start button in the bottom left corner of the screen and select Settings.
    • In the Settings window, click on “Update & Security” and in the left menu, select “Recovery”.
    • In the Advanced Startup section, click the Restart Now button. This will restart your computer and take you to the advanced startup options.
    • From the options that appear, select “Troubleshooting > Advanced Options > Uninstalling updates”.

Lastly, if the issue persists, it is recommended that you bring this to the attention of your graphics card and monitor manufacturers, as this may involve driver compatibility and will require the manufacturers to further verify this issue and push a patch to fix it in a future update.

If you have any questions, I'd be happy to discuss this further and thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

    Best Regards,
