Mouse cursor not moving

Hello,

Some days ago, I started my PC ( as usual). Despite the mouse (Logitech G502 Hero) being correctly connected and the LEDs working fine, the cursor was not moving, and the system was not reacting to clicking on mouse buttons.

The mouse is working perfectly fine on other Laptops/PCs, therefore I assume it must be a software issue on my main PC. I've already performed driver updates/uninstall and reinstall on Windows device management, which looks something like this:

I tried to change the USB port, going both on MoBo and the front panel (with no success).

After a long correspondence with Logitech support, they confirmed that the mouse firmware is already updated to the latest version and I already have installed the latest G HUB suite. I didn't find a way to solve the issue. The mouse seems to communicate with the PC, since it gets correctly found by G Hub and all the settings (such as LED colour) get successfully changed by the Logitec Suite; what is not working is that the mouse can't move the cursor.

I've also tried to uninstall G Hub and run the PC without it, with no success.

P.S. I've already tried what was suggested here

Unfortunately, I don't have a restore point going back to the end of October, the date on which the issue occurred.

P.P.S. Adding PC Specs:
CPU: AMD 7800X3D

GPU: Nvidia 4080 Asus x Noctua

RAM: 32 GB Gskill Trident Neo

SSD: Samsung 990 Pro 2TB

Windows specs:

Edizione Windows 11 Pro
Versione 23H2
Data installazione: ‎17/‎06/‎2023
Build sistema operativo 22631.4391
Esperienza Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.1047.0

Any other ideas?

Hello matterom8, welcome to the Microsoft Community!

According to your feedback, you are experiencing a problem with the mouse cursor not moving

I would like to check with you if you are having the same problem with another mouse on this computer.

You can try clicking on the official website of the motherboard brand and update the chipset driver of your computer.

You can also check the device manager to see if there is any problem with the USB port.

    Disable Power Management

    Disable USB selective pause:

Open the Control Panel and select “Power Options”.

Click on “Change plan settings” next to the current power plan, then click on “Change advanced power settings”.

Expand “USB Settings” and set “USB Selective Suspend Settings” to “Disabled”.

    Disable device power management:

In Device Manager, right-click on each USB root hub and select “Properties”.

In the “Power Management” tab, uncheck “Allow computer to turn off this device to save power”.

We hope you find the above information helpful!

I've tried both suggestions, with no success.

    Issue is still there.

    Thank you for your reply.

You can try a clean start to see if it is caused by third party software

    The method is as follows

    1. Tap Windows+R and type msconfig.
    2. Open System Configuration, select General tab - Selective Startup.
    3. Remove the checkbox of Load startup items.
    4. Go to the Services tab - click Hide all microsoft services in the lower left corner, and then click Disable all.
    5. Click OK and restart your computer. (Be sure to select Hide all microsoft services first and then click Disable all, otherwise it may lead to unforeseen problems such as not being able to access the system.)
    6. Check if the problem will reappear.

DISCLAIMER: Clean Boot is a way to start Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that you can determine if background programs are interfering with your games or programs and help you figure out the cause of the problem. It will help you get back on track.

In the meantime have you tried using another mouse?

Do you encounter the same problem?

    Thank you for your reply!

I'm glad to hear that your problem has been alleviated!

I think I know what the cause of your problem is!

You're using a wireless mouse, via a receiver.

Since it connects and works fine, it's not a system problem.

It could be a hardware problem.

There are two places, either the USB port of the computer or the usb plug of the mouse.

In my daily use, when the wired mouse is moving.

It causes the usb connector to wiggle all the time.

That's why you're having the problem you're having.

Your feedback means a lot to me. As a support specialist, I know what users expect and the concerns behind every issue.

I am honored to be able to help you and I hope that my efforts will make things easier for you.

I see that you have clicked on “No Help”, maybe my response did not satisfy you!

But every time you give me feedback, it will make me better!

Thank you very much for your cooperation and understanding, have a nice day!

I look forward to hearing from you!

I tried as suggested, choosing as suggested, as you can see from the screenshot below

    Unfortunately, the problem persists.

I've already tried with another mouse (wireless, a Logitech MX), which works perfectly.
