Hello, I am currently running a pc with windows 10 installed on it and I am trying to update to windows 11. When I run the Windows Update through the settings app it will download and get through the installation a bit and then crash saying, "Error encountered" with the error code (0x80240035). I have also tried installing the update through multiple methods online (ISO file, Windows 11 installation assistant, and installation media) nothing is working. I don't know if this info helps at all but I also can't get my nvidia graphics drivers to install without crashing.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Wyatt, I'm Ramesh, here to answer your query at the Microsoft Community.

Please reset Windows Update using this batch file.

    https://gist.github.com/winhelponline/af9296c10...

    1. Download the zip file and extract the batch file to the desktop.
    2. Right-click on the batch file and click Properties, click "Unblock" (if present), and OK.
    3. Double-click the batch file to run it.
    4. After it completes execution, don't close it yet.
    5. Right-click on that Command Prompt window, click "Edit" and click "Select all"
    6. Right-click on that Command Prompt window, click "Edit" and click "Copy" (This copies the output to the clipboard.)
    7. Paste the info (Ctrl + V) into your reply window.

Then, download the Windows 11 ISO and mount it. Run setup.exe.

If the upgrade fails to complete, please share the following setup log file on OneDrive (or any other host) and post the link here:

    C:$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther\setupact.log

Note: "C:$WINDOWS.~BT" is a hidden folder. To access it, press Win + R, type "C:$WINDOWS.~BT" and click OK.
