I can not log in to my Linux-VM

I created a Linux-VM (OpenSUSE Leap 15.1) and after I connected it to my Virtual-AD and rebooted the Linux-VM I could not login to it. With PuTTY I get this:

keyboard-interactive prompts from server
Access denied
Keyboard-interactive authentication prompts from Server:

Neither does it work with RDP, it does not accept password. It worked fine before reboot.

I tried to use the serial console and my login was not successful there, so I assume the /etc/passwd has corrupted or something similar. I do not quite understand why it happened, perhaps the OpenSUSE is not so good choice? Too bad that it is distribution that is more familiar for me.

I am having problems with logging in to a Linux-VM. I am afraid that I need to make a new Linux-VM. I am wondering should I select a different Linux Distribution?

We cannot answer this information since you did not provided any information why you selected that specific OS in the first time.

Personally I am not familiar with the OpenSUSE template. I am using UBUNTU by default.

Do you mean that RDP worked before the reboot? RDP usually not come pore-installed in Azure Linux VM. It require some installation and configuration.

You will need to give more than this. The source of the issue is probably related to what you did which we have no information about. We only know you did something, but how?!? what?!?

I am sorry that I did not give so much background information, I just though to ask if anyone had similar problems with OpenSUSE template. I used SUSE for many years so I can remember something about that, so it was my natural choice for me. I have not had time to use Linux for many years, so starting to use Ubuntu is little challenge for me.

I was indeed able to configure RDP to work with OpenSUSE with the good help from the links provided. It worked fine like SSH until something happened.

I used YaST to connect the Linux-VM to Virtual-AD like I often did many years ago with physical Linux box. I did not notice any errors or other problems before reboot. After reboot of Linux-VM I could not use any account to log-in, so I could not continue my debugging.

I am sorry that just now I do not have very much time to try this again, so I decided "bite the bullet" and I deleted the OpenSUSE-VM and configured Ubuntu 18.04 VM. It seems to need more powerful VM as it was little bit slow with the similar configuration as SUSE. But just now my main point is not to use Linux, I wanted to check what happens when I upgrade the DC and AD.

I made again a VM from OpenSUSE template and did the same things again and did not notice similar problem. I think the main difference was that I manually entered the password during the setup.

I have some other problems now, but I think I need to open new tickets for those. The main point is that the OpenSUSE template is working quite OK for me.

I am not able to use RDP to the SUSE VM, but I need to study it more.
