Windows 11 Time Issue

Anonymous
2024-10-29T21:01:12+00:00

Several computers use time.windows.com as their NTP server; all computers are located in Arkansas State. But for some reason, the time spent on computers has changed from CST to China in Asia. Do you know what could be the issue? Is there a bug or any problem related to that? Thank you.

    In the Windows search,

type cmd, right-click it, and choose run as administrator.

    Execute:

    regedit.exe

Thank you, I see. So the Time Zone is being changed, is that correct?

Press Windows+R keys on the keyboard, or Right-click Start on the Taskbar and choose Run.

    Type eventvwr.msc

    Press Enter.

Go to Windows Logs > Security and System.

In each, please filter the logs by Event ID 4616 and Event ID 22 and let me know if any log appears that might help us.

The site is using Windows 11 computers for the first time, so these are brand-new computers. The NTP server that they are using is time.windows.com, and as we can see from the logs, it is pulling UTC times from that; however, the computer is changeining that to China/Asia time.

    Hi Pablo,

I'm Sumit, here to answer your query at the Microsoft Community.

Apologies for any inconvenience you are experiencing. We are happy to help you.

I think it might be a bug. Sometimes, I have also noticed that certain programs if you install might be related to the same.

By any chance, did you install any special program that might have modified a proxy or a VPN?

I look forward to your response and am eager to collaborate until we find a solution.
