Secure Boot Mouse Pointer

Hey, hope ya'll are having a great day!

So I'm trying to running a secure boot on my computer to access the Registry Editor in that environment, and the cursor will not appear. I can use tab to navigate to the command prompt, and use the keyboard to type. I type regedit into the console and the Registry Editor appears. I need to access the Load Hive option that is near the top left in the File dropdown, but this is where tab doesn't work because it won't take me there. At this point, my mouse still won't work. Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks!

    Hi, Hamilton Hurst

Thank you for your reply! If you use a touchpad, it means that your touchpad driver does not support use in safe mode. You can use a basic USB mouse as a replacement, because most basic mice are plug-and-play and do not require independent drivers.

Well, I am using a the built-in touchpad. But I'll try to use Alt and see if that works.

    Hi, Hamilton Hurst

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

We understand that you are having problems with your mouse not working in Safe Mode.  What is your mouse manufacturer and model number?Your problem is related to the mechanism of Safe Mode, in Safe Mode, Windows will only load the basic driver, so if your mouse can not be used in Safe Mode, it means that your mouse can not be used by the Microsoft Basic Driver, and it may need the manufacturer-specific driver or software to connect, can your mouse be used in the Normal Mode of Windows? Can your mouse be used in Windows Normal Mode? You can try to use other basic office USB mouse instead to fulfill your requirement in safe mode.By Load Hive, do you mean the drop-down menu for File options? If so you can press Alt+F4 and use the up and down arrow keys to select it.If it's the other directory options, you can also use the Alt+corresponding shortcut keys.If you still have questions, feel free to contact us.

    Best Regards
