Registry BSoD help

Basically I need the usb recovery to at least work on my pc so I can reinstall windows. I think I need to manually fix it on regedit as I know I broke it somewhere by using an old regedit shortcut downloaded from internet. It have 3 files from windows defender on, off and reset. The genius me curious about the reset tried it without a backup/restore point.

Using the usb recovery option just make my screen dim a little then restart for another BSoD. I've tried SFC/scannow, etc and it doesn't work.

Can anyone help me which lines to create/edit for it to work or it isn't possible?

I just want to confirm — did you reinstall the OS? Is the issue still persistent? Also, could you please share a picture of the issue, specifically the Registry BSoD?

    Hi Rei375 ,

I have looked into the issue, and based on my understanding, kindly try the following methods to fix it:

    1. Force a Computer Shutdown Twice

This will bring up the Windows Troubleshooting > Advanced Options:

    • A. Startup Repair

    • B. System Restore

If you have a system restore point, perform a system restore.

    System Restore Instructions (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/rec...)

    • C. Uninstall Recent Updates

If you recently installed any updates, uninstall them.

    • D. Run Command Prompt

Type this command and press Enter:

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    Once it finishes, type:

    sfc /scannow

Also, try these boot repair commands:

    o bootrec /scanos

    o bootrec /fixmbr

    o bootrec /fixboot

    o bootrec /rebuildbcd

    Afterward, type:

    chkdsk /r

    • E. Disable Fast Boot

If you have enabled fast boot in UEFI Firmware, disable it:

    Disable Fast Boot Instructions (https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/21284-enabl...)

    • F. Reset the PC

Select Reset this PC > Keep my files.

    1. Start in Safe Mode (If Step 1 Didn't Help)

Try starting your computer in Safe Mode:

    Safe Mode Instructions (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win...)

If you can log in via Safe Mode, open CMD as administrator and type the following commands:

    • DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    • sfc /scannow

Then restart your computer and check if the issue is resolved.

    1. Create a Bootable USB (If Step 2 Didn't Help)

Create a bootable USB of Windows 10 and boot your computer from it:

    Create Bootable USB Instructions(https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/cre...)

On the installation window, click Repair and try the options provided in Step 1.

    1. Enable the Built-in Administrator Account

Try enabling the built-in Administrator account to see if you can log in:

    Enable Built-in Administrator (https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2969-enable...)

    1. Perform a Clean Install (If the Issue Is Still Unfixed)

If the issue persists, perform a clean installation of Windows:

    Clean Install Instructions (https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...)

Ensure that you install the same Windows edition that was running on your computer to avoid Windows activation issues.

    1. Rescue Important Data

If you have important data, try rescuing it before performing a clean install:

    Data Rescue Instructions (https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...)
