Activation Help needed!

Recent hardware change, new motherboard which is up and running. I get a windows sign-in options screen; the pin is no longer valid due to the hardware change so I elect to sign in with a password. The response I get is "Password is incorrect. Try Again.", no other options. I can see my device in my windows account when I sign in from another computer so I know the password still works... I can not access Startup, Activation, troubleshooter, or any other tools. Any suggestions welcome.

See if you can start Windows in safe mode or if the problem still occurs.

    Go to Recovery Environment again.

Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced Option > Startup Settings and click Restart.

When restarting, press 4 to enter safe mode.

THanks, i got through all of this and was even able to re-install windows while leaving my files intact, but windows will still not let me log in. during one of the restarts it indicated that "windows did not load correctly", so i am still stuck.

is there a way to add an additional account or otherwise get the computer to unlock?

My name is Jonathan Deives. I'm an Independent Advisor and I will be happy to help you today.

Start your PC, as soon as Windows tries to load (spinning dots appear), press and hold the power button for 5 to 10 seconds to perform a forced shutdown

    Do this three times.

Windows will boot into the Recovery Environment.

Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced Option > System Restore and see if you have any restore points.

If you don't have any points, do startup repair, Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced Option > Startup Repair and follow the on-screen instructions.
