Over the past few days I have started to receive a pop up notification requesting I sign into my account.

When I try to sign in, it will not accept the sign in.

I have started pressing "not now" to continue with my work.

my computer seems fine otherwise.

Can you please assist in stopping these pop ups?

Thanks

    Hi Lipstic,

Check in Task manager service section Service Name: "wlidsvc" shows up as Service Name: "Microsoft Account Sign-in Assistant" in the list of services for me. You May stop it untill that user session.

To disable it permanently type services.msc into the start search box and press Enter. This will open the Services snap-in of the console.

Then Check for Microsoft Account Sign-in Assistant >> double-click on it to open its properties dialogue. >> select “disable”from the drop down, then click OK. >> Restart your PC.

Let me know if this solution works for you. If not, please feel free to reply, and I'll be happy to provide further assistance.

    Regards,

    Kishen :)

    Hi Lipstic,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community , I'm kishen an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. I'll be glad to assist you today.

Kindly follow the below steps to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. You can go to Windows Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options, and turn off the option that says Automatically save my restartable apps when I sign out and restart them when I sign in.
    2. You can press the Windows key+R, type msconfig, click on the Services tab, scroll down to Microsoft Sign In Assistant, uncheck the box, click on Apply, and restart your system.
    3. You can switch to a local account instead of a Microsoft account on your Windows profile. This will also disable the sign-in pop up.

Thank you for your help Kishen.

Step 1: was already turned off so I went straight to step 2.

Step 2: no services tab was available when I typed in misconfig? I tried a search for the microsoft sign in assistant and couldn't find it?

Step 3 : I only have microsoft accounts, so I'm a bit confused with this step.

I restarted my computer and when the sign in for Microsoft Teams pop up came up to sign in an error appears:

Error tag: 657rx and Error code: 2148073520 - is that something to follow up that might help?

    thank you
