Version Updates beyond 21H2

OK so I know there are several threads on hear with various problems but none really seam to answer the problem.

I built my desktop PC two and a half years ago, it is compatible with Windows 11.

It has been updating fine as far as I knew but have just found out this has not been the case, I am currently stuck on version 21H2.

I tried to update via the hard download of 22H2 but that said it was irrelevant for my computer??

After spending half a day trying to work out why I gave up and decided to download the ISO for the latest version.

When I tried to install this it stated that my PC was incompatible with this version of Windows.

What the hell is going on with Microsoft?? Are they being paid by the makers to get people to spend more hard earned cash to upgrade their PC's.??

Sadly unlike when they were launching Windows 11 they had the tool to see if your PC met their standards, here there is nothing so it's any bodies guess as to why it is incompatible.

The only reason I found out was after the purchase of photo editing software, it wouldn't install so I dug a bit deeper to find it need 22H2 as a minimum.

I am suspecting that it needs a better graphics card but I can't afford to buy bits to see what works.

If anyone knows a work around to find out for definite why it's incompatible I would be interested to know.

    Hi Keithk56,

I'm Sumit, here to answer your query at the Microsoft Community.

Apologies for any inconvenience you are experiencing. We are happy to help you.

I think a BIOS update is required, as Windows 11 devices which can install 21H2 can install even 24H2 too. Let us find that.

    Right-click Start>Run.

Type in msinfo32 and press enter.

Take a screenshot of the System Summary window and post it in the next reply.

I am eagerly awaiting your response and am committed to working with you until we reach a resolution.
