Hello,

My computer has gotten a few BSOD errors of late and I am trying to diagnose the reasons.

"The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck.  The bugcheck was: 0x000000d1 (0x0000000000000008, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000, 0xfffff801772ec4e4). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\093024-6968-01.dmp. Report Id: 18a0bea0-a3ed-4f7e-8c5f-095d013117cb."

Would be highly appreciative to learn what is causing the issues. Thank you.

    Hi,

Yes, I have tried. However, I am terribly confused by how Asus is doing it.

    https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-z690-f-gaming-wifi-model/helpdesk_download/?model=rog%20strix%20z690-f%20gaming%20wifi

Initially, I tried to run the AsusSetup(64).exe and nothing strangely happened. Then I tried running the WirelessSetup.exe in one of the folders. None of this seemed to have changed the driver version. Next I used the update drivers option for the Intel Wi-Fi device and it seemed that it doesn't solve the problem completely.

That new minidump file also indicates the Intel WiFi drivers are still causing your system to crash.

Did you try installing the version of that driver available on the support page for your PC on the manufacturers website?

Hi, I managed to 'convince' Windows to install an older version of the driver. There was another crash. Can I check if it's the same reason? Thanks.

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I am trying to install an older version of the driver, but Microsoft flat out refuses to let me install an older driver. Is there a way around this and to prevent Microsoft from installing the latest driver again? It might be possible that the motherboard wifi is being finicky but I want to try forcing the OS to install an older driver before giving up on it. Thanks.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Your minidump file indicates it is the Intel WiFi drivers that is causing your PC to crash.

Go to the support page for your PC on the manufacturers website, then from there, donwlaod and re-install (not update) the version of Intel WiFi (WLAN) drivers they provide.
