Adding A Shortcut To Desktop Windows 11

I have Windows 11. I want to add a few shortcuts to my desktop for quicker access. I was able to before but I recently had to reset my computer and now I'm unable to put my shortcuts back up. Is there a reason I can no longer add the shortcuts for This PC, Control Panel, Run, Task Manager and File Explorer? All the tutorials I've found to do this only show me how to use the icons for them even when people have specifically asked how to do what I want to do. I've been able to do this in the past. Has something changed?

    Hi,

I'm Rodrigo and I'll help you.

To create a shortcut for This PC on the Desktop, just drag the This PC icon from the File Explorer to the Desktop.

To create a shortcut for "Run" right-click in a blank are of the desktop > New > Shortcut, paste the path below > Next > Name the shortcut > Finish.

The shortcut will show the File Explorer icon, if you want to set the "Run" icon, right click the shortcut > Properties > Change icon > paste the path and press enter to show the icons.

    C:\Windows\System32\imageres.dll

For the File Explorer, do the same process above to create a shortcut and use the path:

    explorer.exe

For the Task Manager, do the same process above to create a shortcut and use the path:

    taskmgr.exe

For the Control Panel, do the same process above to create a shortcut and use the path:

    Control.exe
