Hello, Recently I downloaded Windows 11 iso and added it to my VM, but when pressing the power button, it reveals this message:

"Could not create anonymous paging file for 4096 MB: The paging file is too small for this operation to complete.

Failed to allocate main memory.

Module 'MainMem' power on failed.

Failed to start the virtual machine."

I need help with this.

    Hi Sonic,

How much RAM does your PC have? Is it able to run a VM? Based on the error you need to increase Paging file size:

Right-click on This PC and select Properties.

    Click on Advanced system settings.

Under the Advanced tab, click on Settings in the Performance section.

Go to the Advanced tab and click on Change under Virtual memory.

Uncheck Automatically manage paging file size for all drives.

Select your drive and set a custom size. Make sure the initial size is at least 1.5 times your RAM and the maximum size is 3 times your RAM.

    Click Set and then OK.

Let me know if it works.

I have 8 GB of RAM,

The VM shares 4 GB of RAM.

    I see,

The thing is out of those 8GB RAM you might not have enough left with to run a VM smoothly. If it will work I would say you might see degraded performance. 16GB is definitely recommended.

But try the steps I provided and let me know the result. Share a screenshot from Task Manager > Performance > Memory

    Thanks,

    That's not how it works.

Your Windows and other background applications are using RAM regardless. So you might not have enough left to run a VM.

I would kindly ask you again to perform the task above and provide the screenshot so I can better understand your situation.

    Many thanks,
