Boot loop after

hardware fault = no audio

ran Avast virus scan = no issues found

then driver update = Realtek audio driver

then system restore.

“Critical Process Died"

On windows 11.

Tried everything in chat to recover my partition with no success. Only get to the cmd, and the uefi bios boot order only lets me select "WINDOWS BOOT MANAGER". Boot mode is greyed out so cant revert to legacy to boot from usb .

    Hi, david burns3

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

We understand that you have encountered the Critical process died problem, you see the WINDOWS BOOT MANAGER interface that you have not yet entered the system, then this is due to the corruption of your system files, resulting in the motherboard can not recognize the disk with the system.  It is recommended that you first mount your hard disk to another computer to back up your files, and then prepare a USB flash drive of 10GB or above, and then use another computer to visit the following site, click on “Download Tools Now” (note that it is not “Update Now”), and then download the ISO file. Download the ISO file.-Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com) Run the MCT tool to create the ISO image and copy it to the USB flash drive.-Insert the USB flash drive into your current computer and enter the Bios (please refer to your hardware manufacturer for details), select the USB flash drive as the priority boot item.-Select “Not Now” on the “Get Updates, Drivers and Optional Features” page.-Next Confirm your files, applications. Settings are preserved. It will also show you the version of Windows it will install. If you are asked to enter a key, the ISO you downloaded does not match your current system version.-On the Select what to keep screen, select Keep files and applications.Click Install to begin the non-destructive repair.Disclaimer: At this point, we have exhausted all troubleshooting and I recommend that we try to perform a clean install to get your computer back into a working condition. Please ensure that you backup any important data, including Documents, Pictures, Videos, and more. After that, you can find instructions on how to install Windows 10/11 in the following article by MVP Andre:How to: Perform a Custom Installation of Windows 11 and Windows 10 - Microsoft CommunityIf you have any progress, please feel free to contact us.
