OneNote - unsyncing from computer

Question

For security reasons, I want to save all OneNote computer files on an external hard drive and DON'T want them synced to the computer.

I can't figure out how to do this.......so when I open a file from the external, it won't automatically be saved to the computer.

I'm sure there is a way.....just don't know how.

Help please.
