Microphone not working

I bought a budget mic 3.5mm Jack Microphone it seems to be working normally on my phone but not my pc, when i go to sounds i see the mic is enabled but it doesnt catch any sounds?? also the drivers are updated

    Laptops will need a TRRS (3 black rings) mic. Desktop computers will need a TRS (2 black rings) mic.

    You need an adaptor or a splitter.

    Hello! I'm Manoel Barros, a Microsoft user just like you! I will do my best to help you.

    • First, check if the Microphone is connected to the correct connector. The Microphone connector is the Pink Connector, with a Microphone symbol.
    • If the Microphone is connected to the front connectors of the case, connect it to the rear connector of the motherboard.
    • Use Windows Update to install or update the Microphone Driver.
    1. Open System Configuration > Click ''Update & Security'' > ''Windows Update'' > ''Check for Updates''.
    2. Download all available updates. Click on the ''Show optional updates'' option (marked in blue) if you have > Select all drivers > Click on ''Download and Install'' > Restart your computer.
    • Use the Windows Voice Recorder application to test if the Microphone is recording your voice.
    • See if Windows is allowing access to the Microphone.
    1. Open Windows Settings > Privacy > Microphone > Enable the option "Allow apps to access your microphone".
    2. Restart the PC.
