    Dear Hamid Sharif,

Hello! Welcome to the Microsoft community. I'm glad I was able to help you. If I don't understand your question, please let me know right away.

I learned that after installing Windows 11, you encountered the problem that the sound card failed after the computer entered sleep mode, and you needed to restart it every time to restore the sound. I understand the trouble caused by this problem, and I will try my best to help you solve it.

This problem may be caused by driver compatibility problems, power management settings or system settings. You can try the following methods and hope they will help you:

    1. Update the sound card driver, go to the official driver download website provided by Dell, find the sound card driver corresponding to your computer model (optiplex 3040), download and install it. If possible, we suggest that you use DDU uninstall tool to completely uninstall the old driver first, and then install the latest driver.
    2. Adjust the power management settings

-Enter the "Device Manager", find your sound card device, right-click it and select "Properties".

-In the Power Management tab, check whether there is an option to "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". If yes, please uncheck this option.

-Go to Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, Power Options, click Change Plan Settings, and then select Change Advanced Power Settings.

-In the pop-up window, find the options related to "PCI Express" and "Link State Power Management" and set them to off.

    1. Disable the quick start function

-Open the Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, Power Options, and click the function of selecting the power button on the left.

-Click "Change settings that are currently unavailable", then scroll down, uncheck "Enable Quick Launch", and finally click "Save changes".

    Step 4 update the BIOS

-If the BIOS version is older, it may cause compatibility problems between the hardware and the new operating system. You can go to Dell's official website to download and install the latest BIOS update.

-When updating the BIOS, make sure to follow the instructions to avoid problems.

I hope the above information can help you. If you try the solution, feel free to tell me the results or the problems you are facing.

    Best wishes
