Sadly this is how it works, to be honest. It does not make a local copy, but makes a Cloud copy.
Has Backup been fixed?

Windows Backup has a problem, where instead of backing up documents, it removes them from my computer, and puts them on OneDrive. Has this been fixed in the new version of OneDrive?
