old game issue (Error Code: 0x800F081F)

I hope you're doing well. I'm reaching out regarding an issue I've been facing with an old game called Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader. Recently, I've encountered a random error code (Error Code: 0x800F081F) that pops up and crashes the game at irregular intervals.

things that i have tried

Running the game in compatibility mode (for various versions of Windows)

Lowering the graphical settings Reinstalling the game from different sources (both physical and digital copies)

Running as Administrator and disabling background programs Updating all drivers, including graphics and sound drivers

Verifying integrity of game files (when applicable) Despite these efforts, the error continues to persist.

My sincerest apologies about that. Some older games rely on DirectPlay, which is part of the "Legacy Components" in Windows. You can enable this by going to Control Panel > Programs > Turn Windows features on or off, and then check Legacy Components > DirectPlay.
