Hello, I have a word document with bold text on some subheadings, but in my output to the printer the text does not become bold. Can anyone explain it? (I have Windows 11 and a Brother printer.)

Thank you for your very helpful response and sorry for my delayed response, it's been a lot lately. And when I was finally going to reply to your email, I made a mistake: I was going to press "yes" (the problem is solved) but accidentally pressed "no"! How do I change that?

Anyway, since I happened to press "no", I can ask one more question. When I print I get a very large margin at the top of the paper, although it is much smaller on the screen. I have tried to make some changes without success. What do I do?

I'm glad we figured it out together!

Please change the text to a regular font or try exporting the document as a PDF and printing it from the PDF.

Hi there, I'm John, a fellow Microsoft user like you.

I understand your frustration, and I'm here to help. Could you let me know what font you're using? Could it be that you're using a light version of the font, such as Segoe UI Light?

Also, please try saving the file as a PDF and then printing it to see if that makes a difference.

Click "Reply" below to let me know how it goes. If the issue persists, please provide more details.

    John J.D.

Explain, not realy as you dont mention the printer model or whether you installed the full feature from that printer maker and followed the set up instructions or whether you simply plugged it in and crossed your fingers

In Word > File > Print that should display the Preview and the printer model, you then have various print settings, before finally > Print
