    Dear manchester love

    Thank you for your reply!

This is a normal phenomenon. Windows updates are divided into security updates (fixing various problems to make the system stable) and feature updates (adding new Windows features). The cache time required for each and every different update is not equal. If the preparation time required before the update is longer than before, it means that the content of this update is relatively large, and it takes a certain amount of time to connect with the old version. Therefore, this cannot be said to be an abnormal phenomenon, unless your computer has problems after the update, then you need to take some solutions to solve the problem.

    Hi, manchester love

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

We understand that you and your friends have some doubts while installing Windows 10.  Regarding your first question:It is normal to see a black screen with the motherboard logo when installing Windows, the boot boot of the motherboard as well as the performance of the hard disk affects the speed of the Windows installation, the completion time of this phase is uneven, as long as you are following the normal process of completing the installation of Windows, there is no indication of the problem. Therefore, the phenomenon you are experiencing is normal.Regarding your second question:The time before Windows Update is usually when the system's Windows Update service is starting up and is obtaining update information as well as the installer program from the Microsoft servers, so this takes some time to load, and the loading time for this phase is also uneven, so this phenomenon is also normal.Considering that you are asking about a point in time that is more than 5 months ago, although these phenomena are normal, if there have been any changes to the computer in the meantime (network environment, computer hardware, etc.), this will usually result in a longer installation and update process as well. Of course, if you have successfully completed the installation and update of Windows, you can ignore these phenomena. If you still have questions, please feel free to contact us.

    Best Regards
