Hello Microsoft Team,
I recently bought a PC and installed Windows 10 Pro. To remove the "Activate Windows" message in the bottom-right corner, I used KMS Auto for activation. I now regret this decision, as it broke Microsoft’s policies and privacy standards. I genuinely want to apologize for this violation. I tried every method I could find to deactivate it: I switched to a local account, used various commands in CMD, deleted KMS Auto, ran a KMS cleaner, and removed my device from my Microsoft account. Yet, it still says, "Windows is activated with a digital license linked to your account."
After reaching out to GPT-based advice, I learned that even a fresh re-installation may not resolve this. While I’d like to buy an activation key, I can’t afford it upfront and there are no installment options available. I don’t mind using Windows without activation—I just wanted to remove the persistent message on my screen.
Is it now legal for me to continue using Windows in this state? I’d genuinely appreciate any guidance, as I want to resolve this issue properly. Thank you for your understanding.

Hi ,
I am Ivan, I will help you with this.
If you bought a PC, it already came with Windows in a version already installed, such as Home, and it is usually very simple to use the activation that comes with the PC and you just need to format and reinstall Windows with the version that comes with it. This is done on pre-built PCs such as Acer, Dell, HP and others.
If you assembled your PC and installed Windows 10 Pro directly, in this case you would have to
Format and reinstall Windows with the version you want and purchase the license officially from the Microsoft or Partner websites.
Hope this helps.
