In that case, because the on-screen keyboard and another external keyboard are working correctly, that indicates it is not a software issue it is a hardware issue on your internal keyboard and it will need to be replaced.
keys mixed up
Hello, i have a hp elitebook 840 G6 with windows 11 installed, for some reason the “Q” key puts down a “W” when pressed, but the “W” key also puts down a “W”, this is the same with the “A” key placing down a “S” but the “S” putting down an “S”, meanwhile the “Z” key doesn’t work all together and doesn’t seem to be registering at all.

2024-10-14T14:24:30+00:00 I tried ran the keyboard troubleshooter, it said everything was up to date and working.
I uninstalled keyboard through device manager then restarted, it did not help.
I tried On-screen keyboard and all the keys were working.
I tried an external keyboard, all the keys also worked on that.

1
Open Command Prompt, then run this command and press Enter:
msdt.exe -id KeyboardDiagnostic
Run that Keyboard Troubleshooter to see if that can solve the problem.
2
If that does not resolve this for you
Open Device Manager
Expand the Keyboards section
Right click your keyboard and choose 'Uninstall'
Then restart your laptop.
3
If the problem is still not resolved:
Bring up the on-screen keyboard, are those keys working correctly on that keyboard?
Connect another external keyboard to your system, are those keys working correctly on that keyboard?
