Failed 24H2 Clean Install

I downloaded the ISO file from Microsoft Website

Tried to install and hangs when searching for disks

Discovered ISO does not have Sata Drivers, so I added them and that resolved the searching for disk issue

Now when the install completes and tells you it will reboot , get a message on the screen (Please note it does not stay on the screen and wait for you to click ok, goes away in 10 seconds on its own)

there is nothing on the disk at all when trying the install, I have already re-downloaded the ISO and have the same issue. I'm able to use the iso to create a VM and that installs with no issues , are there other steps that need to be done to add Sata support besides adding the drivers.

I the re-format the drive and Clean install 23H2 with no issues.

    Hey!

I have a similar problem. SATA drivers can not be installed, as they fail each time. My system worked fine with 23H2, but with 24H2, I can not use my HDDs anymore.

After clean installing 23H2, can you do an in-place upgrade to 24H2?

    Hello HighlanderSword,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community and I'll be glad to assist you today.

Remove all external peripherals, including external hard drives and additional hard disks connected to the device. Leave only the SSD, keyboard, and mouse connected.

Then on the page where it says "Where do you want to install Windows",

    1. If you have multiple partitions listed, select each one (starting at the bottom), then click delete until there is only a single (one) unallocated drive displayed in the window.
    2. Select the unallocated drive listed, click New, click Apply then OK.
    3. This will split the drive into multiple partitions, select the Primary partition then click Next.

    Best regards,
