the computer only freezes after turning off the game, when I play or do something else everything is ok, I recently updated the drivers, but the problem appeared about a week ago so I don't think that's the cause. Dear Oskar,

Hello! Welcome to the Microsoft Community. I'm glad to be able to help you. If I don't understand your question, please let me know immediately.

I know that when you play games, once you switch screens or similar operations, your computer will freeze. At the same time, you can still hear the voice of the call. I understand the trouble caused by this problem, and I will try my best to help you solve it.

Did you make any changes before this happened? Such as system update, hardware replacement, software download and so on. Will this happen when you don't play games? Will this problem happen in all games? If you don't switch screens (alt+tab) during the game, but close the game directly, will this happen? You can try the following methods first, hoping they will help you:

-Update drivers, mainly for graphics cards and chipsets. Go to the driver download website provided by your notebook manufacturer (BIOS manufacturer for desktop computers), find the driver corresponding to your computer model and download and install it. If possible, we recommend that you use DDU uninstall tool to completely uninstall the old driver first, and then install the latest driver.

-If you started to appear in this situation after the update, it may be that the latest update is incompatible with your device. You can perform system restore, open the control panel, select "Restore", select "Open System Restore", and then you may choose a system restore point. System restore can reset your computer to the state of system restore point.

If you don't have a system restore point, you can consider uninstalling the latest update in Settings, Windows Update and Update History. You are free to view the latest updates and uninstall them.

-Try a clean startup to eliminate the influence of third-party software and services to confirm the true scope of the problem.

Clean startup, try to use clean startup, and check whether the problem still appears after eliminating the influence of third-party soft armor and services. If the problem is solved, you can follow the steps of clean startup to find the problematic software.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows - Microsoft Support

Disclaimer: A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. It helps to determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program and to isolate the cause of a problem.

These steps of "clean boot" might look complicated at first glance. However, to avoid any trouble for you, please follow them in order and step-by-step so that it will help you get you back on track.

-If this happens only when you play games, the problem is probably related to your graphics card.

You can consider detecting the temperature of the graphics card and CPU, including the average temperature and hot spot temperature.

Try to plug in the video card, sometimes it may be due to poor contact or static electricity.

Check the power mode and related settings of the game, whether it is high performance and using your discrete graphics card.

I hope the above information can be helpful to you. If you try the solution, feel free to tell me the results or the problems you encounter.
