Help with blue screen stop code "Driver_Power_Failure_State"

Hi,

My PC has been freezing up and restarting at times but most times the WIFI disconnects and the laptop begins to heat up. Upon hitting restart, the blue screen appears a while after with a blue screen and stop code "Driver_Power_Failure_State". This happens almost every day for the past 3-4 weeks.

I am attaching a link to my event log file, assuming this helps. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AzFynmPT-WNnzc5jw3O2-3IYKxWx1eRG/view?usp=drive_link

Can you please help with it?

Thanks in advance.

Warm regards,

Sanjay

Search and click "advanced view system settings"

    Under the Advanced tab

click Start up and recovery settings

Under system failure >write debugging information

Select small memory dump(256kb) from the dropdown

    and click ok

wait for your system to crash again and produce minidump files, hopefully that will provide more information on the underlying problem.

Locate the file or folder that you want to zip.

Copy the Minidump folder or dmp files on your Desktop.

Press and hold (or right-click) the file or folder, select (or point to) Send to, and then select Compressed (zipped) folder.

If that didn't work, ensure that you are using the administrator account. Or try booting your computer in safe mode. Then try to zip the files.

    Hi Jan,

Thank you for your response. The .dmp file that was generated is a Memory.dmp which has a time stamp around the time I encountered the issue. The file however was under the c:\windows folder. I can't seem to access the \Minidump folder. It doesn't state any error. But while windows explorer shows the content of all other folders, it doesn't seem to show anything when I navigate to \Minidump. It just displays the file content of the previous folder I was at.

The Memory.dmp file is a 1.9GB file which I can't zip. It gives a Compressed Archive Folders dialog box with an "Error 0x80070005: Access is denied" message.

I tracked this error to checking the SELF account permissions in the Component Services. In the Access Permission dialog box, SELF does appear in the Group or user names area with Permissions for Self in Local Access and Remote Access checked. I am not sure if this relevant but I mention in case it is.

    What else can I do?

    Warm regards,

    Sanjay

Hi, I'm Jan and I'm happy to help you today. I'm sorry you're having this problem. The evtx file indicate event 41. This event indicates that an error prevented Windows from shutting down correctly or the computer shuts down unexpectedly. Most likely caused by an interruption in the power supply, driver issues, overheating, force shutdown or a hardware problem.

Please check if it creates a dmp file and share the latest dmp files for us to diagnose the cause of the computer crash. Thank you

    Please find this folder.

    C:\Windows\Minidump

Put the files in a zip

    upload files to OneDrive

    Share the link here.

    Thank you
