Issue with USB CD Drive

I recently bough a USB CD/DVD player for my iMac (running Windows 10) since it doesn't have one built in. I was hoping to burn songs onto blank CDs but for some reason the drive won't accept any CDs that are blank, it just whirs a bit then stops. It reads a disk I have music on fine, however I can't edit that one because of the way it was burnt. Thanks

    Hello, Will New

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

Thank you very much for your feedback. I have carefully read the information you provided and the problem description.

I understand that this issue is troubling you. Generally speaking, there are two types of CD/DVD players, one is read-only, while the other can both read and burn.

I suggest you to check the product manual of your CD/DVD player to find out if your player supports burning function. If it doesn't support burn function, it can't read blank CDs.

If the burn function is supported, generally speaking, the manufacturer of the CD/DVD player will provide specific software to enable CD burning. I suggest you can visit the official website of the product manufacturer to find the relevant software. Meanwhile, I hope you can tell me the model number of your CD/DVD player, maybe I can help you to find the software.

    Best regards
