Bizarre USB Bluetooth Problem

So, I have a PC with a 2 year-old installation of Windows 10 which has developed a weird issue. Every few seconds it makes a USB disconnect noise, and looking at Device Manager and USB Tree Viewer the problem is a USB Bluetooth adapter. It appears that it's not running, and having tried numerous fixes from Google I can't persuade it to run.

The real problem, however, is that it doesn't exist! USB Tree Viewer suggests it's plugged straight into the PC, (I also have 3 hubs) but it simply isn't there. I did have a tiny US Bluetooth dongle that I bought years ago, but rarely use Bluetooth, and must admit can't remember when I last used it, but the fact is it's not there now.

Disabling Bluetooth in Device Manager stops Windows bleeping, and also shows the Bluetooth adapter as disabled in USB Tree Viewer, So, what on earth is going on?

    Hello, Cafecafe15

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

Hello, thank you for your feedback on your issue here, it seems that you are experiencing Bluetooth issues with your computer's startup.

First of all, thank you for sharing some information as well as screenshots.

In the case you mentioned I think it's possible that the system is still recognizing that the device may still be connected after removing it previously, sort of a recognition delay issue.

You can first try to enter Safe Mode by referring to the thread below Windows startup settings - Microsoft Support and see if there are any errors or beeps in Safe Mode. If it still exists, you can try to right-click on the yellow error driver, click uninstall, and then restart your computer to see if the abnormality disappears.

In addition, in order to better help you, you can provide your computer's configuration information or computer model number here, in order to facilitate the follow-up of some research. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

    Best regards
