How to Share an HP LaserJet 1080 Printer from Windows 10 to Windows 11

I have an HP LaserJet 1080 printer connected to my Windows 10 PC, and I'm trying to share it with a Windows 11 PC. However, every time I attempt to connect from the Windows 11 machine, I encounter an error. I've already tried updating the printer drivers and modifying the registry, but the issue persists. Could you please provide a detailed guide on how to successfully share the printer between these two systems?

    Please try below steps to successfully share the printer between these two systems

    On Windows 10:

    Go to Printer properties - Sharing tab - enable Share this printer and Ensure Network Discovery and Printer Sharing are enabled in Control Panel - Network and Sharing Center.

    On Windows 11:

    Go to Printers & Scanners - Add a printer - The printer I want isn't listed.

    Enter \Windows10PCName\HP1080 and follow the prompts to install drivers.

    Ensure File and Printer Sharing is allowed on both PCs.

    Note : replace "Windows10PCName" with your Windows 10 PC’s name and "HP1080" with your printer name
