I've looked in taskbar settings but I cannot disable this, does anyone know how to?

Are you referring to the size of those icons and the text on the icons?
If you are, open the Settings App, then got to Personalization - Taskbar.
On that settings page, there should be a drop-down menu to choose to always combine the taskbar icons, does that resolve the problem?
If you cannot change that setting please provide a screenshot of that settings window.
