Windows 11, version 24H2 this update was shown in my windows update tab in settings. I downloaded it and installed it. It asked for a restart. During the time when black screen came with the message "donot turn of your computer", my laptop did shut down due to low battery. After i connected the charger and restarted it showed "undoing changes in the computer".

And now the update is not shown in the settings. In the update history part the update is not there. I did the troubleshooter of windows updates but nothing availed. It showed something detected but nothing was done.

Is the update gone for me ? when would it be re available?

Hi Abhishek,

I suggest making a copy of that folder on the USB drive before deleting it.

If you delete this folder and its content, HP Recovery app will be unable to install the drivers & software that originally came with your PC (factory-state).

yeah. i clicked on that ISO file, it asked me to EJECT instead of MOUNT , so i clicked on EJECT . A dialog box appears asking to run the Setup.exe file. I clicked yes.

Now the MCT opens and is searching for Updates but its stuck on 46 % for like 30 minsImage

Ok. In that case, please use the ISO to upgrade to 24H2. If you wish to defer the 24H2 upgrade (for a few months), no further action is needed.

23H2 will be supported till November 11, 2025.

    Hi Abhishek, This is Ramesh.

Please run winver.exe and post a screenshot of that dialog.

If the OS version is not 24H2, you can upgrade to that version using the ISO.

(Your files, settings, and applications will be preserved if you use the ISO recommended for your system by the Media Creation Tool.)

    1. Download Windows 11 Media Creation Tool (MCT) from this link:

    https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2156295

    1. Run MCT and download the ISO it recommends for your system. Do *not* uncheck "Use the recommended options for this PC".
    2. Right-click on the downloaded ISO and choose "Mount." This assigns the ISO a drive letter.
    3. Run setup.exe from the ISO drive. This starts the in-place upgrade to 24H2.
