I restarted my pc and ethernet decided to remove itself and stop working. I activated wi-fi that works as normal but i prefer to use a ethernet cable.

Device manager says ethernet controller cannot start code 10.

It's not the first time this has happend, last time it happend some months ago and i removed the ethernet driver around 8 times and it started to work again but here i am with the same phenomenon, i included some picture if that helps.

Ethernet only shows up if i disable ethernet controller, but is gone when i enable.

    Hello, Pontus Selin

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

Hello, thank you for your feedback here on your issue, it seems that you are experiencing a situation where the NIC driver has not been recognized properly.

First of all, thank you for your latest update progress, you have tried many methods, I appreciate the effort you have put in, it shows that you must be a scholar with a spirit of research.

It seems that your NIC is working normally at the moment, I have some information to share with you as to the cause of this problem, I have encountered a similar situation to yours before, I also tried many methods and still kept dropping the NIC driver and it was unrecognized, and finally did solve it by uninstalling and installing the driver many times, but after a while my NIC driver seemed to be completely unusable, and checking it revealed that there was a hardware The problem was a hardware issue.

So if you have the means, you can try replacing the card with a different one or using usb network sharing to see if the driver is still often unrecognized, or maybe you need to consider a hardware problem.

    Best regards

Okay so after after around fifth or sixth try of windows debug search that resets the network card options and requires a pc restart i got the ethernet back working again, i really don't understand why this happends to begin with and why would it even require this many attempts to fix this?

And last time it was around 7 tries of uninstalling the device driver.
