Random keyboard delay

For the past few months I have been experiencing a seemingly random delay on my laptop, the delay only affects the keyboard, not the mouse or the screen. The delay happens only in videogame without pattern (I'm not sure but it's probably because of the higher requirements of the videogames).

I have already tried a soft reboot and a few tutorials but i couldn't find any solutions. I don't think it is a virus as I have done some scans and checked manually although im not 100% sure.

Specs:

11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11800H @ 2.30GHz 2.30 GHz

16GB RAM

Windows11 Home

Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU

Victus by HP Laptop 16-d0xxx

Any tips are apreciated.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi, Alonso Segura Ropero

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

We understand that you are experiencing issues with the accompanying keyboard lag in-game, and due to the limited information available at this time, we need some details to pinpoint the issue:  Are you using a laptop keyboard or an external keyboard? Are you experiencing the same problem with a different keyboard? Are you having this problem with a specific game or with all games? If it's a specific game, could you please provide a list of games where the problem occurs? In the meantime, considering that you are only experiencing this problem in games, it may be related to a keyboard malfunction or third-party software interference, so we suggest you try the following options first:I. Perform a clean bootThe method is as follows1. Tap Windows+R and type msconfig2. Open System Configuration and select the General tab - Selective Startup.3. Remove the checkbox of Load startup items.4. Go to the Services tab - click Hide all microsoft services in the lower left corner, and then click Disable all.5. Click OK and restart your computer. (Be sure to select Hide all Microsoft services first and then click Disable all, otherwise it may cause unforeseen problems such as not being able to access the system.)See if the problem still recurs.NOTE: Clean boot is a way to start Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that you can determine if background programs are interfering with your games or programs and help you figure out the cause of the problem. It will help you get back on track.*Disclaimer: A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. It helps to determine whether a background service is interfering with your game or program and to isolate the cause of a problem.**These steps of "clean boot" might look complicated at first glance. However, to avoid any trouble for you, please follow them in order and step-by step so that it will help you get back on track.*II. Try to repair your system1. Search for CMD, find Command Prompt and select Run in Administrator Mode.2. Enter the following commands one by one, be sure to execute the next command after the previous one is completed.DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealthDISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealthDISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealthSFC /Scannow3. After the scan is complete, you can check the scanning information to see if the problem has been detected and fixed. You can also try to create a local account and then try to see if the problem still exists in the local account:Search for CMD, then run it in administrator mode and enter the following commandnet user USERNAME PASSWORD /addnet localgroup administrators USERNAME /addUSERNAME PASSWORD can be replaced with your preferred account name and password, if you don't need a password you can leave PASSWORD blank.Try playing the game under the newly created account and see if the keyboard is also delayed. Please feel free to contact us if the information is updated or if you have any progress.

    Best Regards
