Windows10 doesn’t update

Since oct/nov 2023 Windows Update doesn’t update my Windows10Pro 22H2 anymore.

Windows Defender updates normally (by itself, not through Windows Update), but Windows itself doesn’t update at all.

Windows update error: 0x80004003

DISM error: 0x800f081f

No solution found yet.

After a forced restart and a quite long automatic recovery this was the result.

    So no succes yet.

    Will try MCT again later.

    Hi abernaert,

Does Windows load now? If so, you may consider doing a Reset with the Keep my files option.

    Long story short(er).

Tried MCT weeks ago. After preparing etc it said (something like): Update finished in less than 30 seconds.

After reboot tried again, same result.

    Nothing had changed.

Tried again yesterday. After downloading/preparing got a reboot (crash?). After logging in same result. Nothing had changed.

Tried again today. After downloading/preparing etc I actually got the ‘Ready to install’ screen. Than installation started. Around 30/40% got first reboot.

But that was it. Looking at black screen with a cursor for at least 6 hours now.

HD still active but nothing seems to be happening.

    Hi there,

A repair installation should fix the issue.

    1. Download Windows 10 Media Creation Tool (MCT) from this link:

    https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=2265055

    1. Run MCT and accept the license agreement.
    2. Click "Upgrade this PC now"
    3. This starts the repair installation.

    Note:

A repair installation using the Media Creation Tool shouldn't erase your data. However, ensure the "Keep personal files and apps" option is ticked/auto-selected during the setup.
