Hi, I would like to ask why my pc from f1 key to f12 all cannot press individually? I need to press fn key then I can function. Previously my wifi suddenly disconnected and didn’t show any connection, my whole wifi icon disappeared also. I follow what previous comments from here and I did uninstalled my wireless adapter from control panel. But I found out that my wifi disappeared again. So I restart my laptop and it now coming back already. Is it related to my problem?

I see. If it continues to act up, download the Intel wireless adapter driver from asus's website for your model:

https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/Image/Dri...

Install it and see if that helps with the issue.

Further more, you can also download and install BIOS (which is the firmware of the motherboard in case the issue has to do with motherboard where the wifi card is seated). https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/Image/BIO...

==========

If it still happens intermittently, and you've done the above, the issue can be hardware related, such as loose connection of the card. In that case, you need to seek Asus's support instead.

By the way, the FN key issue is all good?

According to Asus, their models typically use Fn + Esc key to enable/disable the fn key lock. https://www.asus.com/us/support/faq/1038312/#:~....

As for the wifi issue, is it currently still not working. You said it is coming back, do you mean the icon is back, or the issue is back?

Can you share with me two screenshots please?

  1. Go to Device Manager > Network Adapters, I would like to see what's listed.
  2. Please type msinfo32.exe in the search on the taskbar and hit enter, then share a screenshot of the pop up.

Thanks!

    Yes, now it’s coming back. But I faced this problem for too many times, so I’m wondering what’s the problem. Not sure whether you need them but I will show u the pictures about the situation I encountered before.

    Yes sure, I will show you the screenshot of my device manager and the msinfo.

    Thanks

    Hello, this is Emily.

    This is not related to the wifi issue. You accidentally activated the Fn key lock, which is a hardware feature (not a Windows feature). Each brand of computers follow different instruction to disable/enable it. I would need to know the brand of your computer in order to give you the instruction how to disable it.
