Currently I backup my PC to an 8TB disk using Windows 10 backup. The drive is almost full so using Storage Spaces, I would like to add a new 8 TB drive (for a total of 16 TB) without losing any data by

  1. First create a new Storage Space on a new blank 8TB drive
  2. Copy the current 8 TB drive contents over to the new Storage Space drive
  3. Add the original drive to the storage space. I understand the original drive will be wiped clean.
  4. The question is will the contents of the new drive be wiped clean when adding the old drive to the Storage Space?

    Hi,

    1. If we want to add the original drives to the new storage pool, we need to ensure the new storage pool has slots to add drives.
    2. If we copy the data from old storage pool to the new storage pool, before adding the old disks to new pool, please format the drives, then in the new storage pool, click "Add drives", it's safe for the data on the new storage pool.
